Most of those that play free poker are the loose-passive players.  They are just new to poker and therefore they play free poker and they are playing a lot of hand to have a feel of having experienced a lot of action and they are playing to have fun.  Most of those that play free poker play a lot of hands to the extent they play every hand from every position! After a bit of experience and having gone off from the excitement of action and fun, they will start noticing that they are losing more than normal.  It is after this phase, they sit to research of how actually they should play.

Any player that is new to poker will be excited and will be in a rush to play many, many games as possible when they play free poker.  They tend to just graze through the rules and they immediately set to play.  Since the money that they will be using is free money or just fake money they just clock on the call raise and check buttons as they please.  In some games played like this they tend to win, while in some games they tend to loose.  As time passes, they become impatient on this unstable winning and lot of interfering losses.

They just get back to research and learn that whether they play free poker or money poker, they have to look before they leap.  They also learn that poker requires enough preparation and careful thought in every action.  An hit or miss play method simply does not work magic, only a rare coincidence of favorably probability can show up as winning, but in other terms a structured betting is very necessary.

Some that did play free poker the wrong way get discouraged from playing poker and they also warn others not to play poker.  But truly, like any education or any technical field, poker is also a technological sport.  If we can be precise it is a mathematical sport.  By using the appropriate mathematics for poker anyone can play a wise and yielding poker.  Those that quite the math part of poker are going to meet with no luck.

Basically you need to stay patient and learn and revise your play after each session where you did play free poker.  It might be itchy and time consuming to do it, but as time passes you will realize that you have done it right.
